Baking apple pies is hard yo. Trying to get the crust just perfect. Trying to find the perfect not too sour not too sweet apples and then the perfect amount of sugar and acid to make the delicious filling. How thin or thick do you make the apples? And are you going to make a lattice covering? The questions and techniques are endless.
we did this. of course, it was apple strudel, not pie. and it was the ’60s.
